Our History

Walter’s is a local family run company that was started in the 1940s by Mr Jack Walters, the company began as a small taxi firm. Mr Peter Blowfield bought the company in the early 1980s to add to his already thriving motor company which he had run since 1967.

Mr Peter Blowfield started out as an apprentice engineer at A.E.R.E Harwell; in older style apprenticeships great importance was put on accuracy, attention to the teachings of seniors, pride in your work, and loyalty. This put him in good stead to progress upwards in his career from being an employee, to teacher, and finally director of his own company. At this point Mr Blowfield’s Son John trained under his father in the motor engineer trade as an apprentice, he also trained in bodywork and coach repairs.

Later Mr Blowfield moved from the taxi, Limousines and general motor trade, to the coach hire industry. This is when his daughter Helen joined the company. Over the last decade the family have built the fleet up from 2 coaches to 30 or more, ranging from 16 seater mini coaches to 77 seater Neoplans.

Walters transports everybody and anybody with its range from specially adapted 70 seater school coaches, 16 seater disability mini coaches and luxury coaches, to standard coaches for your journey.
